Cobalt

Cobalt in Southland Serpentine

Serpentine contains 581gm/T of Cobalt Sulphate equivalent. Where Cobalt levels are marginal the normal application rate would be 375gm/Ha annually of granular Cobalt (10% Co).

Cobalt is vital for the formation of Vitamin B12 in stock, necessary to avoid ill thrift and the need to treat animals with remedial B12 injections. This press release from Ballance Agri-Nutrients explains more.

Cobalt is important to fertility, cellular longevity, nutrient absorption and metabolism of fats and carbohydrates
